The Calling

You know what mindfulness can make possible.

You have felt the difference between knowing about presence and actually inhabiting it. Perhaps you have watched that difference move through a client, a student, a colleague, or someone you love—and wondered whether it is time to offer this work more fully.

For 2,600 years, these practices have moved from teacher to student, from one heart to another. MMTCP is a structured path from personal practice to skillful teaching.

Who You Become

The person people turn to.

MMTCP does not simply give you more information about mindfulness. It develops your capacity to guide a room, respond to what arises, and teach from lived practice rather than a script.

01

Grounded in yourself

Your practice deepens, and your presence becomes steadier in the rooms you already hold.

02

Capable in the room

You learn to guide meditation, build a course, meet questions, and teach with clarity.

03

Ready to serve

You leave with a recognized certification and a practicum course you have already taught.

This is more than adding another technique to your work. It is the formation of your capacity—and confidence—to teach.

The Doubt Everyone Carries

“But who am I to teach this?”

I haven’t practiced long enough. I’m not an expert. What if I’m not ready? These doubts do not disqualify you. They are part of learning to teach with humility.

“To me, the best teachers are the ones who have struggled and know the path from the inside out.”Jonathan Foust · MMTCP Faculty

MMTCP does not ask you to arrive perfected. It gives you 18 months of practice, mentorship, feedback, and a real practicum so readiness is built rather than presumed. Teaching remains part of the practice: you keep teaching what you are still learning. Jack’s instruction is simple: “Teach what you know.”

“Be patient. Be kind with it. It will grow. It’s like a garden.”Jack Kornfield

After 50 Years in the Teacher’s Seat

What Teaching Mindfulness Has Taught Me

“You keep teaching what you are still learning.”

For more than fifty years, teaching mindfulness has kept teaching me. Students arrive carrying sorrow and joy, courage and uncertainty, and each encounter asks me to listen more deeply. They remind me that compassion is not an idea but a way of meeting what is here; that equanimity can hold both heartbreak and delight; and that humility keeps the heart available to learn.

Again and again, I have discovered that the teacher is never finished. We practice alongside those we guide, becoming more honest, patient, and loving through the work itself. Teaching is not the declaration that you have arrived. It is another form of practice—an invitation to keep opening, keep listening, and keep learning from the lives entrusted to your care.

What does certification require?

The 18-month formation includes core teachings, live sessions, mentorship, ethics, and a supervised practicum in which you design and teach your own course before successful completion.

Who is the program for?

MMTCP welcomes therapists, coaches, healthcare professionals, educators, yoga and meditation teachers, leaders, longtime practitioners, and people entering a new chapter of work.

What do graduates do afterward?

Graduates teach in clinics, hospitals, companies, schools, prisons, retreat centers, and private practices. Some build a teaching practice; others deepen the work they already do.
